COLORS OF SALT X

Photographer Navina Khatib's work consists of multiple layers of landscape photography. She work with analog filters such as kaleidoscope lenses, foil or transparent paper, and uses multiple exposure techniques. In Navina's approach, she create otherworldly ambiances exploring the dissolution of concreteness, opening up new dimensions without earthly boundaries - experimenting with transformation, reproduction, deconstruction, and reconstruction. All photos were shot in places that are already magical, such as the Altiplano of Bolivia, Las Coloradas in Yucatan (Mexico) or the rainforest in Bali. Navina exaggerates the inherent beauty of these places via post-processing.

About the Piece

Discover the enchanting world of Navina Khatib, a German-born artist now based in Málaga, Spain. Navina's mystical landscapes blend color and nature, offering a beautiful escape and inviting viewers to wander through tranquil, textured spaces. Using analog filters like kaleidoscope lenses, foil, and transparent paper, she layers and tweaks landscape photos to craft abstract, magical scenes. Traveling globally for inspiration, she captures the beauty of South America, Bali, Spain, the Canary Islands, La Réunion, and Mexico. Her keen eye reveals hidden allure, offering fresh perspectives. Navina's work has gained widespread acclaim, with exhibitions in Madrid's Parque El Retiro and commissioned pieces for Mt. Sinai Hospital and Nushama in NYC. Her art has been featured in Lonely Planet, Affinity, Atlas Obscura, Caters News, Frankie, Fisheye Magazine, Artsy & Featureshoot, Time Out NY, and The New York Times.
