If you weren’t a designer, what would you be?
If I was not a designer, and was able to carry a tune, I may have been an aspiring Broadway star (lol).
What is your dream collaboration?
My dream would be to build a brand, and have collaborations under that umbrella: tile, fabric, carpets, wall-covering, furniture, accessories and lighting.
Who is your ultimate design icon?
It’s hard to say who my ultimate design icon is, but my top three are Joseph Dirand, Kelly Behun, and Kelly Wearstler.
What era are you inspired by?
I like the a mixture of eras. I love the art deco period and the mid-century period mixed with present day.
Favorite room to design?
I love to design a good kitchen and I am really good at it. ;)
What materials are you currently loving?
I love organic materials: all different types of woods, marble and metals.
The art you include in your settings are always show stoppers. How do you go about connecting an artwork with the rest of the room?
I think that connecting art work with the rest of a room is the number one mistake that people make. Artwork is meant to stand out and compliment a space. It should be chosen based on how it makes the individual feel. It can set or change the mood of a room or the people in it.
Describe the most creative way you incorporated a piece of art in a space.
We had an artist, Jimmy Paintz, paint the walls of an entire hallway and wallpapered the ceiling to create a fun, crazy kids' space.
We noticed you have done a lot of family homes. What are some of the ways you include both good design and comfort? How do you keep good design without sacrificing comfort?
Comfort is our number one priority. Most of our upholstery is custom made so that we can create a look and still control the comfort level of each piece to meet our clients’ needs.
